Hence when one of my best friends from home came to visit last week instead of being compelled to visit every tourist spot in Dublin we mostly just wandered (enjoying the surprisingly pleasant weather) and spent the evenings drinking wine on the couch with yummy food, copious amounts of wine and good company. Why? Because we wanted to.  Because it was fun.  Because it made us happy to simply spend time together.
