I promise I’ll update this soon… as soon as Gossip Girl is over. Judge freely for the next 42 minutes.
Here’s a little breakdown of my actual traveling experience, sorry if it’s a bit dull.
1A: Bus from Waukesha to Chicago (easy).
No description necessary… it was a busride from Waukesha to O’Hare.
1B: Flight from O’Hare to Dublin (also pretty easy).
Personalized in-flight entertainment is probably the greatest bit of technology I’ve experienced in long time, and thank God for it… otherwise I would have had to sit for two hours of Ben Stiller & ‘Night at the Museum II.’ Instead, I finally got to see ‘I Love You, Man’ and the first hour of ‘X-Men: Wolverine.” The lack of ending to Wolverine was due to the fact that this was the first overnight flight that I’ve actually slept on. Without a watch, however, the length ‘sleep-time’ is questionable.
1C: Get of Plane, Through Customs and to the Bus (more difficult than it should’ve been).
The difficulty really was that I was quite tired so I ended up waiting at the wrong baggage carousel and struggling with a trolley for a good ten minutes before figuring out how it worked.
1D: Make it to Dun Laoghaire (medium difficulty).
I met a very nice hotel porter who agreed to help me by checking my bags while I headed into town to ‘top up’ the credit on my phone (more on the ridiculous Irish mobile phone system later). I sat for a pot of tea while waiting, in a mild state of panic for my aunt Sheila. I’d lost her phone number and luckily got a hold of my other aunt and she put us in touch. Just so you know, I was waiting just three blocks from her house and had no idea… way to go, me.
1E: Shower and nap (mmm… so easy).
I ended up sleeping for another two hours and then went for a lovely walk up a huge hill with Sheila and Mocha (her dog). I was able to stay awake for until about midnight, and thus have settled easily into a regular sleep pattern.
